Stamps with Tab-overprints

There was a period in Austria when it was popular with institutions to overprint the tabs of Austrian definitives with their own messages or ads. The Austrian ANK-catalogue lists those stamps under the title 'Advertisement'. Austrian post finally put a stop to this by printing their own patterns on the tabs.
